Team System Event Info

We heard back from the organizers of the Team System Event in Denver.  Here is what they had to say:

While we can’t extend the event’s capacity (we’re at capacity for our largest room), we are accepting waitlisters still. Some folks should still be able to register to the waitlist. We usually try to register to 130% capacity to account for drop-off.

At worst case, we’re also planning to stream the event live via Live Meeting. We can fit another 500 people that way – not quite the same experience, but at least it’s better than nothing.

So, please use these links to get the informations you need.  I guess the interest in Team System is more than they thought.  As always please contact us at info@southcolorado.net with any additional questions.

Notes From The April 7th 2009 Meeting

Thanks to everyone who attended last night's meeting.  It was a great meeting.  Just wanted to tie up some loose ends.

First off, thanks to Fernando for the great presentation.  There where a bunch of request for Fernando's slides and demo code.  He is going to post them here.

I also would like to extend my thanks to our sponsors.  The food was awesome!  So, please contact us at info@southcolorado.net so we can pass on your thanks to Jason Moyer and Joe Mayo and let them know how much we appreciate thier support.  If you are interested in using Robert Half's services or are in need of great consultant services from Mayo Software please check out their sites.

Finally, I mentioned the Big Team System Event during my opening statements.  I was informed today that the event is already full!  Bummer.  I have a message into the organizers to see if they can open up some extra spots for our memebers.  Stay tuned to this site for more info.  I will update once I hear something.

Thanks again for attending and please do not hesitate to contact us at info@southcolorado.com with any feedback regarding any aspect of the group.

Meeting Notice - April 7th 2009

This meeting will be held at Configuresoft. This meeting will be held from 5:30 PM -8:15 PM- see here for more location and time details.

Fernando Cardenas : Pragmatic Architecture for Developers

Developers are often caught between the needs of the business and the needs for creating a good technical solution. Often, the good technical solution loses that battle. This session will help developers identify the technical debt that they have accrued and fix that debt with pragmatic architecture solutions that won’t halt development or break the bank through the lens of two related principles -- Separation of Concerns (SoC) and Single Responsibility Principle (SRP). By adhering to these two principles, your code will improve immediately and your application architecture will become cleaner! See and discuss how these principles work in concert by walking through a practical example on how to separate presentation, business logic, and the database layers from one another by looking at some refactored code. Building on that example, you will then see how the codebase is flexible and resilient to common changes.

Fernando Cardenas has been helping clients of all sizes solve business problems with technology for the last ten years. Lately, he has become more focused on making technology more responsive to the needs of businesses through better software development tools. Fernando and his team at AppVenture, have created a unique way to generate entire software applications and are hoping to start a dialog with the development community about AppGen , the revolutionary approach to software development.
