Meeting Cancellation - Tuesday November 11, 2014

The November 11th, 2014 User Group Meeting has been Cancelled.  Sorry for the inconvenience but November is a busy month for the User Group organizers and speakers.

We are planning to make up for cancelling this event by having a two topic meeting in December. Call it a Holiday Bash if you will.

Jeremy Simmons is currently a Lead .Net Developer at Consolidated Grain & Barge Enterprises, Inc. He has 10 years experience developing desktop and web software using Microsoft technologies. He has also worked as a Windows System Administrator, SharePoint Admin and trainer, and unofficially as a Microsoft Technology Evangelist. He has been programming ever since he could reach the keyboard, and coding in the .Net Framework since 2001 when it was in beta.
He has been an active member in the Colorado front range .Net community and member of the South Colorado .Net User Group for the past 5 years.
Jeremy spends his free time with his wife, new son Jesse, and at his Christian church. He resides in Colorado Springs, where he has lived his entire life.

"What’s New with Kinect v2 For Windows (Technical Dive)" by Dwight Goins

This session will cover the new features of the Kinect v2 for Windows Device and how to build applications that take advantage of the Kinect device. Demos will be shown of the Body Basics, Depth, InfraRed, AudioBasics, CoordinateMapping, HandGestures, and HeartRateDetector samples and we will also talk about how each sample works. Languages covered: C# and C++.

Dwight Goins is the Microsoft Integration and SharePoint Practice Lead Consultant at Nimbo, Inc. located in N.Y. Dwight spends most of his time leading his team to implement System Integration solutions and SharePoint Custom workflows using Agile methodologies with Fortune 500 clients such as AIG. In his night life, he leads a team of developers creating medical based applications, and unique solutions for the Internet of things and devices such as the Kinect for windows and Raspberry Pi. He is an avid Linux User, Open source contributor, as well as a InfoSec Certified Ethical Hacker Instructor. Along with Open source teaching, he maintains an active MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) license, and holds the MCPD, MCSD, Windows 8 Developer certifications, as well as a Certified Data Recovery Professional (CRDP) license. In his spare time he finds a way to take care of his 3 beloved daughters, wife, and extended family by constantly keeping them entertained through travelling, and family fun.
