Job description:
The National Park Service (NPS) is looking for a Lead Software Tester (IT Specialist). Primary responsibility is to provide technical leadership for a small, agile quality assurance team comprised of intelligent, motivated technical professionals. Excellent opportunity to plan and execute testing processes for a high-profile SOA natural resource information project.

The NPS program in Ft. Collins, CO. performs inventory and monitoring in national parks throughout the U.S. Developer support for the program is obtained through an agreement with Colorado State University. Work will be on-site in Ft. Collins, population 130,000, which has received numerous national awards and recognitions as one of the best places to live.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, and demonstrated experience.
*Minimum of 2 years experience in Quality Assurance test planning, test case design and execution
*Experience using C, SQL, XML, and VBScript
*Experience using test automation tools and developing automation processes
*Understanding of functional testing methodologies including the concepts of white box, black box, positive, negative, boundary and regression testing
*Experience working with WSDL documents and devising SOAP messages.

Preferred
*Experience using HP/Mercury testing tools (Quality Center, Service Test, Quick Test Pro)
*Application development with C#, AJAX and .NET
*Experience managing a team of software quality test engineers or equivalent staff
*Familiarity with Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
*Experience testing web based applications
*Familiarity with relational database schema design and analysis
