About the role: As a member of our technology leadership team you’ll plan coordinate and be accountable for all software lifecycle activities related to the organization’s custom software applications. You’ll leverage your knowledge of best practices to guide your development team on issues related to the design, development and deployment of mission critical systems. As a gifted leader, you’ll work with internal and external business partners to support our business objectives with your team.
How you’ll spend your time: • Managing the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise. • Working with the Project Office Manager to enhance change management and release processes that will elevate our delivery team to new heights. • Making sure that your development projects meet business requirements and goals, and measuring the results. • Inspiring your team towards swift and successful resolution of issues. • As a working member of your team defining project priorities, helping establish the project charter, identifying potential risks, project timelines, budgets and testing approach. • Coordinating with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software and applications. • Providing technical leadership and best practices for the application development team in support of business operations. • Reviewing and analyzing existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, and developing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems. • Researching and making recommendations on software products, processes, and services in support of our business effectiveness. • Cultivating and fostering a culture of sound software development methods and quality assurance best practices. • Managing your application development budget with the emphasis on value to our customer base.
What you’ll bring to the role: • College degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent work experience. • Minimum 3 years of experience leading application development or software engineering teams. • Proven experience in the design and delivery of high performing, mission critical software solutions. • Strong knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and methodologies. • Technically fluent in mainstream technologies, specifically Visual Studio.NET. • Your experience working with outsourced development partners in a productive and collaborative manner • Good project management skills and substantial exposure to project-based work structures, project lifecycle models, and common SDLC methodologies. • Knowledge of SQL database design and file management techniques. • Passionate about creating technical solutions that delight users. • A gifted communicator, articulate speaker, professional presenter and occasional joke teller. • Ability to deliver useful documentation and written material that is appropriate for the target audience. • Your keen ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. • A comprehensive understanding of applicable data privacy practices and laws, specifically PCI.
