Organizational Objective/Purpose:

The Risk Analytics team is situated in Corporate Risk Management. The team utilizes third party quantitative models to estimate the potential impact on Schwab’s financial statements resulting from various future economic outcomes.

Brief Description of Role:

The primary responsibility for the resource would be in the development of a centralized database for storing inputs and outputs for analyses that would increase data quality, transparency and provide analytic capability.

In addition, the resource would be involved in other projects such as development of an improved GLRI process, enhancement of reporting tools and providing support for credit monitoring applications.

This is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities include the following:
1) Creation of a database to consolidate the disparate data sources that are used by different analysts into a single source for analysis, subsequent back testing and stress testing.
2) Development of an ad-hoc analytic reporting environment that allows for generating different levels of reports.
3) Development of an automated GL reconciliation process.
4) Providing support and assistance with development of new features for credit monitoring applications.
5) Collaborate extensively within the Risk Analytics team and with other IT teams at Schwab.

Technical/Functional Qualifications:

1) Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a software development role.
2) Strong Technical Skills in C#/VB .NET, SQL Server and ETL Tools (i.e. SSIS) required.
3) Experience in reporting using Business Objects, Crystal Reports, OLAP (SSAS) and/or SSRS required.
4) Experience working with Teradata databases is desirable.
5) Advanced Knowledge in MS Access, MS Excel / VBA is desirable.
6) Familiarity with business intelligence and data warehousing concepts.
7) Previous financial services industry experience is highly desirable.
8) Ability to self-manage responsibilities.
9) Excellent communication skills.
