We are seeking a part-time/entry level Software Engineer for the PriceAdvantage division. The qualified candidate will be enrolled in a four year degree program or graduate school majoring in a scientific/engineering discipline or a recent graduate. You will have at least a 3.0 GPA and have completed your sophomore year. You should have completed courses in Object Oriented Design, Database Design, C# Programming (or similar Java, VB.NET, C++). Plusses: experience with serial port programming, ASP.NET 3.5, AJAX, Silverlight, simulation, linear programming, operations research, other internships. Depending on qualifications, duties will include: • Assist with page mockups in PriceAdvantage Store & HQ (reports, GUIs, etc) • Build features in PriceAdvantage website (downloads, user registration, demo videos, etc…) • Assist with SQL Server ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) • Performs tests/ assist QA with each build • Build method/assembly tests using C# and CodeSmith • Assist with sprint/scrum duties (Build page mockups, enter user stories, create use cases) • Work on KB/Wiki (migrate from PHP to ASP.NET, organize, proofread, etc…) • Build realistic price data generator for databases (example: take a Fikes DB and extrapolate for 12 months worth of data in a v3.3 DB) • Assist with optimization/analytics research for fuel price prediction (could include pattern recognition, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, etc…) • Build test harness for SignEmulator (C# GUI that exercises all commands/responses for all types of signs) • Build NUnit tests for PA HQ and PA Store • Setup & run code test coverage tools • Setup & run FXCop • Assist with building PLC based scroll sign for proof of concept (Ethernet communication instead of RS232, more digit status awareness, etc…) • Work on RS232 over wifi Ethernet bridge concept • Prototype WFP .NET 4.0/VS2010 upgrade of PA apps.
